How to Master the Instagram Stories?

Instagram’s Snapchat like feature lets you create a sequence of videos and photos that stay up to a day.  One of the Instagram’s most famous features is called stories. More than 250 people use Instagram stories every day. Why is it so popular? Because instead of the usual posting of the carefully chosen image, accounts allow you to post a bunch of photos that plays like a slideshow and it itself disappears after one day. It may sound familiar because of its very much like Snapchat’s My Story feature; similar features now are coming up in WhatsApp and Facebook too. Let’s know about the Instagram stories here.

Making your story is similar to Snapchat

As mentioned earlier, Stories are basically videos or photos that are posted together to form a slideshow gallery, tells a story. You can either save your picture, send it to friends or add it to your account, as per your choice.

How to create a story like a pro

  • Tap the plus button, located on the top-left side of your home screen or swipe to the left in your feed. You also can quickly launch the stories by swiping to the right from the main screen.
  • Just ‘Tap’ the circle button at the bottom to take photos or tap and hold to record video. You can also start a live event or put the app in the hands-free mode.
  • To add videos or pictures from the gallery. Swipe up on the screen or tap on the photo icon on the lower left side of the screen. A date sticker will be added automatically to your gallery photos. You also can remove it if you are willing to remove it. Edit the videos or photos with text or add a drawing. If you tap the pen icon, there will be three types of pen. 3rd one makes your sketch look like a neon sign.
  • Now tap “Done” to save your story. Tap to ‘Add Your Story’ button to share your story. You can also click the ‘Save’ icon to save your image or video on the phone.  By clicking the Arrow icon, you can shoot your picture to one of your friends as well. Just tick the bubble by “Your Story” and the person you are willing to share it with. The image will disappear as your friend sees it.

Add Snaps and Gallery photos to your story

It’s better to use your saved snaps from Snapchat or pictures from your phone gallery as the Stories. After you have taken a snap in Snapchat, just tap the Download button. It now will be saved to your camera roll. For adding a photo from the Phone gallery, open Instagram, start a story and swipe down. A gallery will pop up, that will include your Snapchat photo too, tap on your snap and post as usual.
